Yellowstone Horse met up with Shoshone Lodge Outfitters to learn more about their guest lodge, featuring horseback riding, outfitting services, dining, lodging and more!  A special part of their business is to offer big game hunts in in the magnificent East Yellowstone Valley. Whether your goal is to have a memorable vacation with friends and family, or to bag a trophy animal you won’t be disappointed by what this area has to offer. Hunters are given the opportunity to benefit from the proximity to Yellowstone Park as the animals migrate out of the park into our prime hunting territories. We offer wilderness hunting expeditions for hunting elk, mule deer, bear, and big horn sheep, as well as non-wilderness hunts for mule deer and antelope. You can “rough it” in one of our high mountain camps or stay in a cozy cabin with friends and family and hunt from there. We offer you the perfect opportunity to customize your vacation to meet your exact needs and abilities.

Stay in our inviting and authentic Western Lodge or a Western Cabin!

Shoshone Lodge, is only 3 miles from Yellowstone National Park, making it the perfect location to stay and experience the beauty of Yellowstone during the day.

The lodge was built from native timbers in the early 1920’s by Cody’s first county sheriff, Henry Dahlem. The building is a beautiful display of craftsmanship and history which features our full service dining room, office and lounge. This is our main gathering place for road weary travelers to take the time to sit and enjoy the warmth of the fire in the historic hearth built from stones collected by the original family members. Or on warm summer evenings they might choose to sit in one of the rockers on the front porch and listen to the brook trickling through the courtyard while watching for local wildlife that may wander through.

Enjoy Western Dining

Enjoy tasty home-cooked fare at the Shoshone Lodge. We know how tiresome “road food” can be when one has been away from home for quite some time. That’s why our food is the real deal, right down to our homemade buttermilk pancakes and fresh baked pies. Our menu covers a wide array of dining needs, with homemade soups and salads for the lighter side, to the nightly specials of good ole’ fashioned home cookin’ just the way you would do it in your own kitchen. We also offer a kids menu for the little buckaroos. Meals are not included in the cost of the cabins, but the prices vary to fit into any budget.

The restaurant is open for breakfast from 7:30 am until 10:00 am and for dinner from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. We are open to the public, so if you are just passing through, stop on in and bring your appetite.
